Parties to mark end of war ...and whole UK is welcome

THE people of Britain are all invited to unite to celebrate 80 years since VE Day on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5.

Thousands will hold street parties, and there is an open invitation to The Mall in London to see the spectacular fly-past and processions outside Buckingham Palace.

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy called on the whole country to take part to remember the end of the Second World War.

She added: "This is one of the last chances we have to say thank you to this generation of heroes."
