JAMIE OVERTON has hailed Harry Brooks’ sensational innings against New Zealand as "ridiculous".
The Black Caps secured a four-wicket win at the Bay Oval in the first of the three-match ODI series in Mount Maunganui after skipper Brook had made 135 in England's 223 all out.
Fast bowler Overton came to the fore with the bat after arriving at the crease with England reeling at 56-6.
Zak Foulkes and Matt Henry had wreaked havoc in favourable bowling conditions but Overton contributed 46 in a valuable stand of 87 with Brook.
