Mercedes EV leaves speed record in dust

MERCEDES-BENZ has smashed records after its prototype electric supercar drove the equivalent of the Earth's circumference in less than eight days.

A team of top drivers, including Mercedes F1 ace George Russell, pushed the firm's Concept AMG GT XX at 186mph around 3,177 laps of Italy's high-speed Nardo test track.
