WITH his wife and dad fighting cancer, brother Harry snubbing him and Uncle Andrew embroiled in scandal, 2024 was clearly a terrible year for Prince William.

But the 43-year-old royal told how coping with the anguish of such struggle helped strengthen his resolve.

William made the admission in an emotional TV appearance with Schitts Creek actor and comic Eugene Levy.

He said: "I'd say 2024 was the hardest year I've ever had.

"You know, life is sent to test us as well, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are."

Levy had invited William on to his TV travel show as a guest.

The pair toured Windsor Castle and sat down for a pint at the Two Brewers pub, which lies in the shadow of the landmark's gates. William ordered an Inch's apple cider.

Levy said the prince was "down to earth, smart, and a terrific gentleman".

SMEARS

He revealed William admitted that he remembered him from the rude 1999 hit comedy movie American Pie, released when the royal was just 17.

The prince's struggles in 2024 included wife Kate being admitted to hospital for major abdominal surgery in January. At the end of March, she went public with her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy.

He and his family had to endure vile smears and conspiracy theories about her absence from public life, while she was at her most vulnerable.

On February 27, William was due to give a reading at the thanksgiving service for King Constantine of Greece at St George's Chapel in Windsor. The guest list included European royalty.
