Keeper says boss's speech fired up Toffees for win at Old Trafford

JORDAN PICKFORD revealed how a blunt message from David Moyes inspired Everton’s famous win at Old Trafford.

The Toffees became the first team in Premier League history to triumph at Manchester United, having gone a man down.

Despite Idrissa Gueye’s red card inside 14 minutes, the visitors won thanks to Kiernan Dews-bury-Hall’s stunning strike.

It was Moyes’ first win at Old Trafford as a visiting boss in 18 attempts.

But Pickford reckons Moyes should thank himself for the result — after telling his players before kickoff how Everton needed to win at United to be considered a “proper team”.
