TV show boss still gets shivers

A PIONEERING female TV crime executive says she still gets the shivers after handling the gun used by murderer Ruth Ellis, the last woman hanged in Britain.

Speaking on the eve of the screening of a new ITV drama on Ellis, Sandy Kaye revealed she may be the only other woman in history to ever hold the notorious weapon.

The highly anticipated TV series stars Lucy Boynton and Laurie Davidson.

Sandy was given special access to the Met’s crime museum, which is not open to the public, to view the Ellis gun for the TV documentary series.

Sandy, executive producer on the show, said: “The only two women that I know for a fact who have handled that gun are Ruth Ellis... and me.
