New lease of ife after’ amazing treatment

A CENTENARIAN is enjoying a new lease of life after having hip replacement surgery.

Joy Palfreman, 102, is thought to be the oldest patient to have had the procedure at the hospital where she was treated.

She said: "It's amazing, I really didn't think at my age they would do the operation but I'm so pleased they did.

"Before the hip replacement I was in excruciating pain and couldn't walk. Now I'm getting around so much better. It has given me a new lease of life."
