Robertson backs 'outstanding' Wirtz to become Kop assist king after ending barren spell in Frankfurt

ANDY ROBERTSON thinks Liverpool team-mate Florian Wirtz will go from strength to strength after his "outstanding" display in the Champions League.

Arne Slot's side ended a four-game losing run in emphatic style with a 5-1 victory at Eintracht Frankfurt.

And Germany star Wirtz was at the heart of the action, setting up Cody Gakpo for Liverpool's fourth goal.

But rather than engulf the Dutchman, many of his Reds team-mates made a beeline for the man who had laid on the opportunity.

Small wonder. For the first time in more than two months, the hard work of Wirtz (celebrating with Gakpo, circle) had been rewarded with an assist.
