Donations for horror blaze cop hit £300k

A POLICE officer who lost his wife and children in a horror Boxing Day blaze has received more than £300,000 in donations.

Tom Shearman tried to save wife Fionnghuala, known as Nu, and his two children — Eve, seven, and son Ohner, four - but was beaten back by the flames.

The family dog was also killed in the blaze.

An online fundraising appeal was launched and yesterday the total passed £300,000 with more than 15,000 donations, including one of £10,000.
