Doctor strike another symptom of sick NHS

Doctors are striking in a dispute over pay.
-
The five days of action, which began on Friday, is the 13th walkout since 2023, with the British Medical Association arguing doctors need a 26% pay rise to restore earnings after inflation. Bosses say they have already had a 30% pay rise over three years. You say...
WHEN I started my career, most people took whatever job they could get. For a select few they didn't just have a job, they had a vocation. Going into medicine was one of these. These doctors were motivated by the desire to help others.
Resident doctors striking is seriously inconveniencing some of the most vulnerable in society. They have already been awarded a pay rise of almost 30% - generous by any standards.
This is holding the government to ransom and screwing them for as much cash as they can get.
I suggest their contracts should require them to work in the NHS for 10 years to repay the training and support they have received from the taxpayer. Only after they have completed it should they then be free to go abroad.

Doctors' pay has been eroded for years and Wes Streeting knows it. We need vital doctors - we don't need the Firm, or clueless politicians.
