Norrie demolishes Gomez to set up Fearnley clash

CAM NORRIE will face Jacob Fearnley in a Battle of Britain in the French Open third round tomorrow.

British tennis is guaranteed to have a man into the second week in Paris for the first time since Andy Murray in 2017. And it will be the first time in the Open era that two British players have met after the first round here.

Former Wimbledon semi-finalist Norrie backed up his win against Daniil Medvedev by beating Argentine Federico Gomez 7-6 6-2 6-1.

And Fearnley, who reached the Australian Open last 32 on his overseas Grand Slam debut, repeated the feat when No.22 seed Ugo Humbert retired in the second set.
