3 DIE IN COPTER LESSON HORROR

THREE people died and one person was seriously injured after a helicopter crashed while being used for a flying lesson yesterday morning.

Four people were on board the craft when it plunged into a field on the Isle of Wight at around 9.20am.

One was airlifted to hospital after emergency services were called to the site near the busy A3020 Shanklin Road.

Witness Leigh Goldsmith said she was driving towards Shanklin when she saw the helicopter “spiralling” before it went out of sight and came down in a hedge.
