Netball World Youth Cup 2025 Visa delays force SL Youth Netball Team to forfeit three matches
Daily Mirror - Sri Lanka
|September 22, 2025
Sri Lanka’s Youth Netball Team has already forfeited two matches at the Netball World Youth Cup (NWYC) 2025 preliminary round in Gibraltar, with a third match also likely to be missed today due to the team’s failure to travel to England in time, following delays in their UK visa applications.
Representing Group ‘C’, Sri Lanka was scheduled to face England on September 20 and Wales on September 21, but their absence resulted in the NWYC Gibraltar Competition Committee awarding walkover wins to both opponents. Accordingly, England and Wales were each awarded two points.
