Eshan, Yashen shine for Mahanama

Eshan Withanage and Yashen Gunatileke shone with half tons for Mahanama College Colombo on day one against Mahinda College in their Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter played at Mattegoda.

The duo's knocks helped Mahanama taking first lease of the wicket to make a formidable score of 314 runs and Mahinda in their turn facing 11 overs ended the day on 33 for 1.

Royal was on top against Nalanda at the end of the first day's play in the match played at Campbell Place. Royal helped by a half ton from Yasindu Dissanayake made a score of 260 and had Nalanda struggling on 74 for 9.

The matches will be continued today.
