Sparking change: How Sri Lankan entrepreneurs are redefining resilience and sustainability

Through its recent Fireside Chat series, TiE Colombo brought together some of Sri Lanka’s most visionary leaders to share how resilience and sustainability are no longer just buzzwords — they are strategic imperatives.

One session focused on retail resilience, featuring industry stalwarts SL Retailers' Association Founder President and Hameedia Group Director Hussain Sadique and Velona Group of Companies CEO and Chairman Dr. Gehan De Soysa. They shared how the retail sector was tested by crisis after crisis and how reinvention was the only way forward.

“You have to play your own game, because the market is constantly shifting. Staying true to your path while adapting with purpose is what builds real success,” said Dr. Gehan De Soysa reflecting on bold leadership in uncertain times.
