Reshan Algama sets RCGC alight with spectacular eight-under-par round

THE Faldo Series Sri Lanka 2026 continued to reaffirm its status as the premier pathway for junior golf development, as another high-quality competitive round unfolded under excellent playing conditions on its Round 2 on Friday at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC).

The event once again brought together elite young talent from Sri Lanka and the region, highlighting both skill and composure across age groups.
The standout performance of the day came in the 17-21 age-group segment, where left-handed Reshan Algama produced a sensational comeback to surge into the lead. Algama fired a stunning eight-under-par 63 in Round 2-one of the finest rounds recorded at the RCGC in recent junior competition - to take the outright lead with a total of 134. This eight-under-par round remains a record by a member at the RCGC. Only pro Anura Rohana has achieved this at the same course with a 10-under-par on a particular round.
