On the auspicious occasion of the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan, I extend warm greetings and sincere best wishes from the government and people of Pakistan to the government and friendly people of Sri Lanka.

This day is not only a celebration of Pakistan's journey as a sovereign nation, but also an opportunity to reaffirm the enduring bonds of friendship and cooperation that bring us together.

August 14th marks a significant day in Pakistan's history, commemorating the successful culmination of a long and arduous struggle by the Muslims of the Subcontinent. Under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Pakistan emerged as a sovereign state 78 years ago, embodying the vision of a modern and progressive nation. The government and people of Pakistan remain committed to realizing this vision by building a moderate, self-reliant, and Islamic welfare state.
