Watchdog predicts rise in migration as costs leap

NET migration will rise again in the final years of the Labour government to almost 350,000 a year, Office for Budget Responsibility figures show.
The Treasury watchdog figures said the balance between immigrants and emigrants is expected to increase in 18 months following sharp falls in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
The OBR revealed: “Net migration is expected to fall further to around 262,000 in the year to mid-2026.
