Villagers fear golf club's eco plan will bring 50 HGVs a day

A TOP golf club is embroiled in a planning war over green proposals because locals do not want lorries using a narrow road in their village.
Residents are furious with the plans put forward by Hockley Golf Club in the South Downs over fears up to 50 HGVs will use their main road in Twyford, Hants, every day.
The B3335 that winds through the village where house prices average £825,000 and leads to the golf club is too narrow and is already a "rat run" which truckers allegedly abuse by mounting kerbs to take corners.
Locals say they have to dodge wing mirrors on lorries when they take a stroll through their village.
