Vietnam is cheapest for winter sunshine

A VIETNAMESE coastal city has been named the cheapest winter sun holiday destination for the second year in a row

Analysis by the Post Office revealed costs in the historic port of Hoi An had dropped by 19.2% since the survey was last carried out a year ago. It beating nearest rivals Mombasa Beach in Kenya, Cape Town, South Africa, and Bali in Indonesia.

Holidays have become cheaper thanks to a surge in sterling's value against many far-flung currencies, which means prices have fallen in 88% of the locations included in the Long Haul Holiday Report.

Wine

It looked at the cost of a basket of goods in 30 destinations including an evening meal, coffee, beer and wine, chocolate, water, and sun cream which cost a combined £52.66 in Hoi An.
