Giving "pretty simple" advice, the US president yesterday suggested the Prime Minister would be doomed to electoral failure unless he gets a grip on key UK issues.

Mr Trump gave his political tips to the PM as he met Sir Keir and his wife Lady Victoria at his Turnberry golf course. He was asked about his relationship with the leaders of Labour and Reform, as his friend Mr Farage is tipped to win the next general election.

The president said he liked "both men" before giving the PM guidance for electoral success: "Politics is pretty simple, I assume there's a thing going on between you and Nigel and it's OK, it's two parties.
