Trump: I hope killer gets death penalty

THE alleged assassin suspected of shooting Right-wing activist Charlie Kirk has been arrested and named as Tyler Robinson, ending a massive manhunt in the US.
The 22-yearold was picked up 33 hours after the killing of Kirk in front of thousands at a rally at Utah Valley University in Utah on Wednesday.
President Donald Trump said: “The bottom line is they have somebody that they think did it. I hope he’s going to be found guilty, I would imagine, and I hope he gets the death penalty for what he did.
“Charlie Kirk was the finest person, he didn’t deserve this.
“He worked so hard and so well. Everybody liked him.”
Announcing the arrest Utah Governor Spencer Cox said “We got him”. Robinson was being held in Utah county jail and was facing charges of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury and obstruction of justice, according to court documents.
It also emerged Robinson’s father knew the suspect was his son from the images which had been released by the FBI. Robinson’s father then urged his son to turn himself in after he allegedly had confessed.
He reportedly told his father that he would rather kill himself than surrender, but was convinced to speak with a youth minister who also worked with the US Marshals Service.
Justice
US Marshals then took Robinson into custody and informed the FBI, the sources said. Governor Cox said: “T especially want to thank the family of Charlie Kirk. I want us to be thinking of them as we bring justice to this case.” He said family members had told investigators Robinson had become “more political” in recent years. Mr Cox says the relative recalled a recent incident in which Robinson came to dinner and mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to Utah Valley University, and talked about why he “didn’t like him and the viewpoints he had”.
Robinson had told a family member that “Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate”, said Mr Cox.
