BRIAN HARMAN was out on his quad bike - roaming his 40-acre stretch of Georgia farmland when it sank in that he was Open champion and he could finally enjoy it.

The American left-hander was nicknamed the 'Butcher of Hoylake' because of his love of game hunting and a six-stroke victory at Royal Liverpool 12 months ago.

As Harman plots to become the first back-to-back winner of The Open since Padraig Harrington, below, pulled off the feat in 2008, he has been thrust back on centre stage.

With his interesting hobby and runaway win, he went from little-known to quite the story last year, but that brought positive and negative attention.
