TARK EYES AN END TO TOFFEES' STICKY RUN

Tarkowski thinks trophies for Palace and Newcastle should inspire Everton.

JAMES TARKOWSKI insists Everton's players are determined this season to end the longest silverware drought in the club's history.

The Blues went to Anfield on Saturday for the 247th Merseyside Derby and were met with chants of “Champions,” and “You haven't won a trophy since 1995," by home fans, below, in their 2-1 loss.

Although Everton have lifted silverware across nine separate decades, a feat of longevity that only Liverpool and Manchester United can better, their barren spell now stretches back 30 years, to when Joe Royle’ side defeated Alex Ferguson's United 1-0 in the FA Cup final.
