Storm brings havoc

TRAPPED motorists had to be rescued from “danger to life” flooding yesterday as Storm Chandra drenched the nation.

A month’s worth of rain fell in hours in some parts during the “multi-hazard” storm along with gales of up to 80mph and snow in the north. In total there were 113 flood warnings across the UK and more than 300 schools and colleges were forced to close.
