Toon's struggles continue but Howe remains relaxed

- BY LEE RYDER

EDDIE HOWE insists his glass remains “half full” going into the festive period despite Newcastle's inconsistent form so far this season.

The Magpies have won just six of their last 19 Premier League matches under Howe's guidance and remain in the bottom half of the table.

Serious doubts have crept into the fanbase over Newcastle's chances of success in the topflight this term and Howe admitted he could look to tweak things in the January transfer window.

But the Toon boss - who takes his side to Old Trafford on Boxing Day - feels his players are already showing signs of improvement.

“I don't think we necessarily have just problems - we have strengths as well,” said Howe.
