Penalty king Willian grabs his late chance via VAR to give Cottagers a timely lift

WOLVES were once again left VAR from happy when the technology contrived to give Fulham not one but two contentious penalties.

VAR decided there was enough contact between Joao Gomes and substitute Harry Wilson to suggest that on-field referee Michael Salisbury had made a clear and obvious error in letting play continue.

It was more of a marginal call than that, but for the second time in the match, Willian delivered from the spot to snatch the points deep in injury time.

The debate will continue to rage long afterwards. Gary O'Neil's team are arguably the worst-treated team in the Premier League this season by the technology after a number of contentious decisions.
