WES BROWN does not want to contemplate the prospect of Manchester United emulating bitter rivals Liverpool for all the wrong reasons.

The Anfield giants went three decades without being crowned English champions, until they won the Premier League title under Jurgen Klopp in 2020.

United are at risk of enduring a similar wait for glory, as the years roll by without them even threatening to be the kings of English football again.

It is already 12 years since the club's most recent title, won under Sir Alex Ferguson in his final season as manager.

Former United defender Brown admits it is down to the new ownership of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, and head coach Ruben Amorim, to make sure they do not match Liverpool's 30-year wait.
