Gilmore threatens to take axe to crisis club's squad

- BY ADAM HATHAWAY

HARLEQUINS interim boss Jason Gilmore has told his misfiring squad they are playing for their futures as they attempt to get out of the current tailspin.

The crisis club hit rock bottom on Saturday when they were hammered 66-21 at Northampton meaning they have conceded 149 points in their last three Gallagher Prem games.

The squad held a no-holds-barred meeting on Monday to review the collapse ahead of Sunday's Champions Cup clash with the Stormers.

Chief executive Laurie Dalrymple has also addressed the players and Gilmore hinted the current group could be trimmed next year if things do not improve.
