Quantum leap for UK

BREAKTHROUGH technology developed by UK advanced manufacturer Oxford Ionics (OI) is set to take quantum computing mainstream in revolutionary ways that will supercharge industry globally.

The company is now at the forefront of a highly competitive sector with colossal rewards. These are thanks to quantum's extraordinary qubit (atom-based) capabilities, that enable immediate multiple calculations far greater than anything possible with today's computers.

However formidable technical obstacles have stood in the way of commercialisation. Then six years ago, Oxford academics and quantum experts Dr Chris Ballance and Dr Tom Harty began pioneering a radically different approach based on robust "rocket ship" engineering.

This led to their patented Electronic Qubit Control system, which overcomes the major obstacles; error-prone computations, noise, warehouse size machines, low operational temperatures and large energy demands.
