ANGELA Rippon and partner Kai Widdrington took time out from "intense" rehearsals for their first Strictly dance to enjoy the glitz and glamour of afternoon tea

The pair got "suited and booted" for Kai's first visit to the Ritz Hotel in London. The professional dancer, 28, joked it was "somewhere very lowkey as a reward to ourselves".

And TV presenter Angela, 78, was beaming as she told him to get ready for "tiny, tiny, tiny" cucumber sandwiches and "gorgeous cakes".

However, she seemed disappointed when Kai said they couldn't wash down the treats with glasses of champagne as there was still work to do for their cha-cha to Shirley Bassey's Get The Party Started.
