Plucky hen's 5-hour labour for huge egg

IT’S enough to bring tears to anyone’s eyes.

Gail the pet hen amazed her family by laying an egg more than three times the normal size.

Rob Griffin, 38, and his kids says the bird was in labour for five hours before the whopping six-ounce egg appeared. Normally they weigh in at just 2oz and even those labelled "very large" on supermarket shelves are less than 3oz.
