Parents charged over death of girl, 14, stabbed at home

THE parents of a 14-year-old girl stabbed to death at the family home appeared in court yesterday charged with her murder.
Scarlett Vickers suffered a single stab wound to the chest in the incident in Darlington, County Durham, on Friday night.
Her father Simon Vickers, 49, and mother Sarah Hall, 44, appeared before a judge yesterday charged with murder and were remanded in custody until August 5.
Police and paramedics rushed to the family's semi-detached house just after 11pm on Friday, but despite their efforts Scarlett was pronounced dead at the scene.
