Germ resistant to antibiotics
A STONE Age bug resistant to 10 modern antibiotics has sparked fears of a new pandemic.
The bacterium, called Psychrobacter SC65A.3, was found under thick ice in the Scarisoara Cave in northwest Romania, where it had been trapped for 5,000 years.
But Dr Franklin Nobrega, associate professor at the University of Southampton, said: “With global warming because of climate change, these cold environments will no longer trap these bacteria.
