Earl's Scot a record to put straight after Welsh romp

- BY ADAM HATHAWAY

BEN EARL starred in the crushing seven-try win against Wales then addressed the elephant in the room - England's Murrayfield hoodoo.

Steve Borthwick’s side head north of the border on Saturday as firm favourites, but anyone putting their house on them to win should tread carefully.

No.8 Earl made his Test debut in Edinburgh, in the teeth of Storm Ciara, the last time England won there - a desperate 13-6 victory in 2020.

Since then they have beaten Finn Russell's side once, an edgy 16-15 win in London last year and have lost 20-17, in 2022, and 30-21, in 2024, in the Scottish capital. All the talk of England winning a first Six Nations title for six years will be hot air if they do not do the job this weekend and they will be examining past Murrayfield slip-ups this week.

Earl said: "I made my debut in the last win and then had that frustrating one two years ago.
