NHS trust is fined £565k over death of woman

THE mother of a young woman who killed herself on a hospital ward has criticised staff for "indifference, ignorance, even at times cruelty" after an NHS Trust was fined more than £500,000 over her death.

Alice Figueiredo, 22, took her own life in a mental health unit at Goodmayes Hospital, Redbridge, after more than 10 similar attempts.
