Wite claims Kremlin poisoned Navalny with Novichok

- Michael Knowles

'My husband could not be broken...and that's why Putin killed him'

THE widow of Alexei Navalny has alleged that Vladimir Putin's cronies assassinated him with Novichok.

Yulia Navalnaya claimed Kremlin officials were "hiding" her husband's body while they waited for "traces" of the nerve agent to vanish from it.

She said Putin ordered the hit on Navalny, 47, in an Arctic Circle jail as "my husband could not be broken".

Mrs Navalnaya urged the couple's supporters to unite in "rage, anger and hatred towards those who dared to kill our future".

In an emotional address to EU foreign ministers yesterday, the 47-yearold mother-of-one said: "Vile and cowardly, they are now hiding his body. They are not showing it, not giving it to his mother and they are pathetically lying and waiting for the traces of yet another of Putin's Novichoks to disappear. My husband could not be broken.
