MUSIC TO HOWE'S EARS IF TOON JOIN THE ELITE

NEVER mind the Summer of '69, Eddie Howe hopes Newcastle will soon be basking in the glory of their most successful campaign in almost a century.

The workaholic head coach took a break from plotting the downfall of top-five rivals Chelsea in tomorrow’s high noon showdown, by going to watch rock legend Bryan Adams at Newcastle Arena on Thursday night.

Howe described the evening as his most enjoyable away from football for a long time.

And he will be on Cloud No.9 again if the Toon beat the Blues.

Head coach Howe said: “I went to watch Bryan Adams.

“I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend him if you want to see a live act.”

His players have certainly been loving their football, especially since lifting the Carabao Cup in March.
