Move aside and let business get on with it, Reeves urged

RACHEL Reeves has been told to “let businesses get on with it and get out of the way” ahead of her next Budget.

Company leaders polled by KPMG said the Chancellor should promote tech adoption and lower costs for firms.

They added that higher taxes, such as the increases to employers’ National Insurance contributions and the national minimum wage in the last Budget, are a “hindrance, not a help”.

The business leaders also want “unnecessary regulations” slashed and for the Government to stop interfering with companies and to rollback net zero policies.

Some 44% want the Budget to focus on the adoption of new tech. A further 35% want Ms Reeves to cut taxes for small firms.
