SONAY KARTAL gained revenge on No.20 seed Jelena Ostapenko with her best Grand Slam win.

But the British No.3 will not celebrate with a 15th tattoo unless she reaches the second week in SW19.

Brighton-based Kartal lost to the 2017 French Open winner in straight sets at Eastbourne last week.

However, the world No.51, who reached round three at SW19 last year, said she was inspired by returning to her favourite No.3 Court as she beat the Latvian 7-5 2-6 6-2 for the first home victory of the day.

“I’m super proud of that win,” said Kartal.
