Itoje insists veterans Underhill & Curry still rule them all

MARO ITOJE has backed Eddie Jones’ Kamikaze Kids to keep on hitting for England - despite the explosion in young back row talent.

- BY ADAM HATHAWAY

Destructive duo Sam Underhill and Tom Curry were given that nickname by Jones at the 2019 World Cup in Japan, two years after their debuts in Argentina.

Underhill, 29, starts against Los Pumas tomorrow with Curry, 27, on the bench, but England have’a galaxy of young guns like Henry Pollock, Guy Pepper, Jack Kenningham and Emeka Tlione coming through.

But skipper Itoje reckons the pair, with 108 caps between them and who both impressed in last week’s win over New Zealand, are good for a while yet and compared Bath's Underhill to a fictional beast from Lord of the Rings.
