Isle sold to boss of a hedge fund firm

A SCOTTISH island has been snapped up by a hedge fund manager as its only two residents prepare to leave.

Rona is home to roaming deer, marine life, such as minke whales and sea eagles, and Bill Cowie and Lorraine Shill - who have looked after it since the early 2000s.

But they are retiring in the autumn so the island’s owners have sold it to Fior Rona Ltd, a firm set up by hedge fund manager Danny Luhde-Thompson and wife Cressida Pollock.
