AN ex-Para surveillance specialist has detailed the spy's tricks he taught Eddie Redmayne for his Day of the Jackal role, including how to use a phone as a weapon.

Paul Biddiss spent 25 years in the Parachute Regiment and now instructs A-listers in espionage and military skills.

He also tutored Eddie over two months in threat assessment, self-defence and evasion - even sending him in disguise into central London to track down Paul's wife Debbie as she shopped.
