Princess Andre opens up about her difficult childhood in her new reality TV series

- WORDS: JO BERRY

Princess Andre, the daughter of former glamour model Katie Price and singer Peter Andre, has lifted the lid on her tumultuous childhood during the filming of her new reality series The Princess Diaries.

The teen influencer, who now lives with her dad, his wife Emily and their three young children, reveals that during the time when she and her brother Junior, 20, were growing up following Katie and Peter's divorce in 2009, it was often difficult for her.

"I wish I could have had a happier childhood but I had so many things on my plate at a young age," she says in the show. "I had amazing times and memories with both my mum and my dad, but I have not so good memories of when my mum and Kieran [Hayler, Katie's third husband] split up when I was 10 years old.

"He was in our lives for five years so we got close to him and loved him, and when they split up, my mum, being heartbroken, didn't deal with it in the best way. She went through a dark time. It was hard for me because I saw things kids don't need to see, and my mum wasn't emotionally able to be there."
