'I feared kidnappers would take some fingers and kill us'

Wealthy Briton and girlfriend's Ecuador ordeal

A BRITISH millionaire feared his fingers and ears would be chopped off when his kidnappers demanded a £3.7million ransom in Ecuador.

Businessman Colin Armstrong, 79, and ex-model girlfriend Katherin Paola Santos, 31, were abducted from his home at night by 15 armed men.

Yorkshireman Colin, a former honorary consul to Ecuador, was still naked when he was taken from his property in Guayaquil.

After a six-hour drive they ended up in a concrete cabin.

The kidnappers strapped a vest to petrified Katherin, warning her it was a bomb they could easily detonate.
