Hussain resignation is awkward for the Labour line

LABOUR MPs have been warned to "carefully choose their words" when speaking about the Gaza war after the shock frontbench resignation of Imran Hussain.

Mr Hussain, a shadow levelling-Up minister, said he was standing down in order to "strongly advocate" for a ceasefire.

He told leader Sir Keir Starmer that he was resigning "with a heavy heart" but "it has become clear my view on the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza differs substantially from the position you have adopted".
