Pharmacist and nutritional therapist Deborah Grayson reveals how to reduce some of the risks of your favourite drinks, from eating broccoli to an alcohol curfew

How to enjoy summer rosé without regret

As the sun shines, barbecues are fired up and pub gardens fill with customers. And for many, these activities are unthinkable without some accompanying alcohol.

From chilled glasses of wine and Pimm's in the garden to cold lagers by the pool or fruity cocktails after the beach, summer and alcohol mix a little too easily.

It's an unhealthy national habit and research is increasingly showing there is no “safe” amount of booze. And the more you drink, the more of a risk you take with your health, with a greater risk of cancer, heart disease and stroke.

While the sober movement is becoming more popular, many people still want to enjoy a drink or two. So is there a way to indulge but minimise the bad stuff?

Pharmacist and nutritionist Deborah Grayson says a few lifestyle tweaks and some good habits can, in fact, help reduce the impact from booze the morning after, as well as on your long-term health. Here, she shares her best advice:

Drink water... and then more water
