THE cost of workers' sickness has risen by £30billion since 2018 with at least £25billion arising from lower productivity, a think-tank claimed.

Another £5billion is the result of an increase in sick days, said the Institute for Public Policy Research.

Dr Jamie O'Halloran, IPPR senior research fellow, said: "Too often, UK workers are being pressured to work through sickness when that's not appropriate harming their wellbeing and reducing productivity.
