Hero hostages welcomed to White House

President Trump addresses released Israeli hostages at the White House yesterday

DONALD Trump called released Israeli hostages “heroes” as he welcomed them to a White House reception yesterday.

All 20 of the captives set free by Hamas in last month's Gaza ceasefire deal were invited to Washington with their families by the US president.

Seventeen of the hostages - all of whom were freed after two years of captivity - were due to take part in the Washington visit, along with some freed in previous deals.

Mr Trump told them: “Youre not a hostage any more, today youre heroes”
