Kenworthy has a new run which could put him in the mix for a slopestyle medal

GUS KENWORTHY is the self-described grandad of the slopes but the old dog has been learning some new tricks in a bid to win a magical Winter Olympic gold.

The 34-year-old will compete against several athletes almost half his age in slopestyle, where flicks and flips over obstacles is the order of the day.

Kenworthy is doing it for the golden oldies and revealed skiing superstar Lindsey Vonn's comeback has inspired his own Olympic return.

The social media star, who has 1.2million Instagram followers, came out of a three-and-a-half-year retirement this season with the goal of reaching his fourth Winter Games.
